Agile got split into two parts in two decades. It started with Agile Software Development when the agile manifesto was written in 2001 by a group of developers. It was mostly limited to software and product development during the first decade. After the 2007-2009 financial crisis, organization leaders started exploring how to minimize risks by responding faster to changing customer priorities.
The agile way of working becomes a buzzword, especially after seeing Spotify, Netflix, and Zappos’s success. Today many more companies are moving to the agile way of working, including banks, insurance companies, and telecoms. Even government functions or government-funded organizations are becoming agile, and we hear some great stories about them.
The agile way of working is not the same as agile software development. It is a fundamental shift in how an organization does business and requires changes in doing business, organization structures, policies, and operational activities. Organizations need more coaches than traditional bosses in new ways of working. The majority of coaches today come from software development and IT service industries, and many of them lack a basic understanding of organizational functions beyond IT. There is a need for agile coaches coming from core functions such as marketing, sales, HR, operations, and quality. Similarly, traditional organizational design consultants, process consultants, quality assurance coaches, and people coaches have to upgrade themselves to agile coaching.

The agile facilitation track covers the agile mindset, various agile frameworks, and a facilitator’s role in the agile way of working. The cohort program will have eight learning sessions over four weekends, and the session will have 4 hours of learning in a group facilitated by two coaches. Coaches will provide assignments to complete during weekdays, including small projects, write-up, self-development initiatives, and assessments. Successful completion of the program will help to earn two certifications from ICAgile.
It is a highly recommended program for people paying the role of an agile coach, scrum master, or facilitator. It is also recommended for managers, leads, and senior managers to learn inquiry-based conversation. We will have a total of ten sessions over five weekends. Learning Outcomes span various areas key to Enterprise Coaching effectiveness, including organizational design, agile enterprise frameworks, executive/leadership coaching, large group facilitation, and change management strategies.
